Wwoofing

WWOOF is an exchange - In return for volunteer help, WWOOF hosts offer food, accommodation and opportunities to learn about organic lifestyles.

WWOOF organisations link people who want to volunteer on organic farms or smallholdings with people who are looking for volunteer help.

For more information see WWOOF UK website.

Wwoofing at Deanbank

Deanbank is a family run smallholding of 10 acres. As you can see from the website we have a variety of animals. All our animals are friendly and well handled.

Accommodation

We have one twin room and one single room available in the middle of our busy family home. We are also happy for you to bring a tent if you prefer. We expect you to eat all your meals with us.

The work

Yes it will probably involve weeding unless you come in the winter months when it will involve lots of mud. But it is not all weeding. It will include:

  • Feeding our animals and poultry.
  • Maintaining fencing.
  • Cleaning out animal housing.
  • Preparing vegetable beds.
  • Watering fruitand vegetables.

We are not as organized as some of the larger farms and need you to join in whatever project we are involved in. This includes seasonal jobs like shearing and lambing and one off projects like putting up new buildings.

We expect you to work 5 hour a day 5 days a week. There are bikes available for your use. It suits us better if you work weekends and have days of during the week but we can be flexible.
