So many people are interested in incubation. What a joy it is to watch the little chicks peck their way out of their eggs. Many people find the cost of the incubation equipment too high and, as a beginner, it’s important to have good quality equipment.   That’s why we use the RCOM 20: we find it the most reliable incubator for beginners.

We now have some RCOM 20 incubators for hire. You can have them with or without our fertile hatching eggs. As fertile eggs do not travel well in the post, collection or delivery is recommended.

You could time the hatch for a special occasion such as a birthday or party.   Perhaps your kids’ school would like to do a project on hatching.

Incubator Hire includes

• Incubator – fully automatic and auto turning.
• Instruction book
• Candle lamp
• Book showing the development of a chick
• Support and advice if needed
• Fertile eggs can be supplied at £2 each.

Cost - £50 for 30 days (a deposit of £200 is required) longer hire can be arranged for those wanting to hatch ducks or geese)

Once hatched the chicks will need heat until they are fully feathered aproximately 5 weeks. If you are interested in the hatching process but not able to keep hens you can return the chicks to us with the incubator. If you would like to rear them and do not have the brooding equipment you can hire it from us.

Brooder Hire includes

• Brooding cage (Foldable)
• Dark heat lamp
• Chick feeder and chick feed
• Chick water drinker.

The small print

1. A deposit is required for all hires and will be returned to you when the incubator is returned to us in clean, working order.
2. The incubator must be returned within 30 days of receipt.  The return date will be made clear to you when you collect the incubator. There will be a charge of £5 per day for overdue incubators unless an extension has been arranged with us.
3. Incubators must be returned clean.  If not, £10 will be retained from your deposit to pay for cleaning.
4. If an incubator is returned faulty or damaged, it will be returned to the manufacturer and the cost of repair will be subtracted from your deposit.
5. Should you decide to keep the incubator you have borrowed within the hire period, let us know and we will retain your deposit as the remained of the payment.
6. New incubators can be purchased from us at a reduced rate in the four weeks following the period of hire.
